What is Fractured Orbit?
A fast, mobile-first space action game built in Godot (with early systems prototyped in GameMaker Studio). You’re a survivor pilot defending XI-340.1 — a tiny planet wrapped in a dense, mineral-rich debris cocoon — while a wounded Celton strike wing hunts you through the rocks.
- 🔹 Risk/Reward Flight — venture deeper into the dense cocoon for richer resources… and greater danger.
- 🔺 Harvest & Power-Up — absorb blue Xeneium (shields), red Rednium (weapons), light-gray Magnium (mass/boost).
- 🛰️ Cat-and-Mouse Combat — outfly Celton hunters, use debris as cover, strike and slip away.
- 🚀 Short, Punchy Sessions — tuned for mobile; easy to pick up, hard to master.
How It Plays
Loop
Launch from the safer edge of the belt → harvest special asteroids → upgrade on the fly → dive toward the Celton stronghold → destroy objectives → escape or press deeper. The cocoon shifts density over time to force new routes.
Upgrades (in-run)
Collect fragments to charge temporary systems:
- Xeneium — shield overcharge & time-dilation dodge.
- Rednium — weapon heat-sink & overdrive bursts.
- Magnium — inertial mass tweak for tighter turns or ramming boost.
Ships
Two asymmetrical arsenals drive different playstyles:
Win & Lose
- Win: cripple the Celton flagship hiding in the core and survive extraction.
- Lose: fighter destroyed or colony shuttles lost before reinforcements arrive.
Lore: The Cocoon World
XI-340 shattered. Its fragments spiraled around its Mercury-sized sister, XI-340.1, forming a dense cocoon of rock laced with Xeneium, Rednium, and Magnium. Only 250 humans escaped. The Celton destroyer survived too — damaged, hiding, hungry for minerals. Rescue is three months away.
Your squad launches from the outer ring, scavenging glowing fragments to tip the fight while using the debris itself as a shield. Every dive inward is a gamble: richer boosts, tighter lanes, deadlier ambushes.
Why the Cocoon Matters
- Strategic Cover: Line-of-sight breaks and ricochets define encounters.
- Living Economy: Mineral pockets migrate; routes change between runs.
- Story Pressure: The longer you wait, the more the Celtons harvest.
Media
XI-340.1 — tiny, harsh, ringed by mineral-rich debris.
Celtons - The enemy who will do anything to obtain magnium.
Human Guardian — agile interceptor, blue thruster, shield-centric.
Celton Viper — heavier delta-wing, red thrusters, brutal forward guns.
